Hi, I’m Nazir Abdulkareem.
A storyteller and visual thinker who loves bringing ideas to life through advertising, design, and copy. I focus on creating campaigns that connect people, inspire meaningful change, and celebrate culture. Every project is a chance to blend creativity with purpose, turning strategy and storytelling into experiences that truly resonate.
I spend my time exploring how creative ideas can make a difference. I enjoy helping communities, elevating brands, and building connections through thoughtful campaigns. What excites me most is finding the balance between imagination and strategy and crafting work that not only looks and reads well but also leaves a lasting impact on the people it reaches.

Creative Beginnings
My journey in advertising began at The City College of New York during an Intro to Digital Media course, where a professor noticed my constant doodling and encouraged me to pursue art. Steered toward advertising as a career, I enrolled in the Ad/PR program, where I developed my writing and critical thinking skills through the guidance and challenges of industry professionals.
Experience and Continued Learning
I completed my coursework for the Ad/PR program in 2024 and continued building my experience through hands-on work with nonprofit organizations, social media consultation, and independent creative projects. To deepen my understanding of modern advertising tools, I recently studied for and passed the 2026 editions of the Google Ads certifications in Search, Display, AI-Powered Performance, and Google Analytics, applying this knowledge to current campaigns and ongoing projects.
Currently, I work with Hope for Sudan as a copywriter and art director on fundraising campaigns such as “We Must Plant,” a grassroots agricultural initiative helping civilians regain food sovereignty while addressing food insecurity. So far, $70,000 (USD) has been raised.
I also contribute to copywriting and creative strategy for FURAHANYC, a cultural collective that brings people together through events and gatherings designed to foster personal growth, meaningful connections, and a strong, reliable community.
Previously, I contributed to Harlem 2032, a community engagement campaign with City College’s Office of Community Engagement, working across copywriting, art direction, and project management to develop messaging that highlighted Harlem’s cultural history and strengthened connections between CCNY students and the surrounding community.
Looking Ahead
My goal is to become a creative director, leading impactful campaigns and helping others thrive creatively. I also plan to return to City College to pursue a Master’s in Branding and Integrated Communications.
